No matter how fine a diamond is, it won’t sparkle without facets: the precisely cut faces that release its light. Talent works the same way. However gifted they are, young people need specific skills to imagine and build the lives they want: setting clear goals, staying composed under pressure, recovering from mistakes, speaking up with confidence, and persisting when things get hard. At Facet Academy, those skills are the facets, and every one can be learned.
Facet Academy will offer 1:1 coaching and small-group classes online for ambitious young people who want to do remarkable things. The approach is simple: dream big about what your life could be, see clearly where you stand today, then bridge the gap, one small, measurable step at a time.
Opening soon. Join the list to be the first to hear when places open.
Hi! I’m Sarah Stevenson.
I’ve always been fascinated by how people learn and grow. I earned a BA in Human Biology with departmental honors from Stanford University, then an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. My career began in epidemiological research, and I still approach everything with a scientist’s eye: I want to know what the evidence actually shows. My work draws on CBT-informed coaching, positive psychology and research on high performance.
For the past twelve years, I’ve focused on raising and educating my three daughters, and on understanding everything I can about how children learn and develop. I’ve also taught live online classes at Synthesis, where students work together on complex, open-ended problems with no single right answer, and I have helped beta test its mathematics curriculum.
I love working with ambitious young people and seeing what becomes possible when talent meets agency: the confidence to choose a direction and the ability to pursue it. That’s what Facet Academy is built for.
I’m training as a Certified Youth Resilience Coach through the Youth Coaching Institute’s ICF-accredited course, and I follow the ICF Code of Ethics.
